Man brandished gun after getting mad about soda tax, prosecutors say - chicagotribune.com

What an idiot this guy is, I don't want to say what a stupid thing to
"back" to prison for (He is a felon) , I'm very happy he didn't hurt
anyone though and will be going back to prison and hopefully get the
help he needs and not just locked up. Obviously he must have resigned
himself to paying the tax so why he returned I have no idea. Only thing I
can think of is he must of went home and mixed that Pepsi with some
vodka or did himself some drugs.

Man arrested after woman found dead outside Carlsbad business park - 10News.com KGTV ABC10 San Diego

First let me say my prayers go out to this woman's family and friends, I just don't understand the lack of respect for human life in this world, especially when someone takes the life of someone they know and supposedly love and care for. It doesn't say the relationship between the victim and the suspect but normally it involves peopletheir families and home to protect the lives a who know each other.

I agree with ChudeighCharleston we in the military community are often considered hero's but what about those men and women of law enforcement who work on the front line here at home? I know that many people have nothing good to say about those working law enforcement and yes just like in any part of society you have good and bad who work in their chosen professions but the majority of police officers do a great job and do respect those of us they are sworn to protect.

Think about it, these men and women who work law enforcement got to work each day leaving the safety of nd ;property of people they don't even know, putting their lives on the line each time they go to work.

One in custody after shootings reported at Jewish Community Center, Village Shalom in Overland Park - KSHB.com

My prayers go out to the family and friends of the deceased individual and the injured as well as all those who where in lock down, they have been going through a very traumatic situation and its something that is going to be with them the rest of their lives, especially the children.

I hate to think that someone was running around yelling hail Hitler but in this day and age I wouldn't be surprised. If they did catch the person I hope they use not only laws relating to race but as well as terrorism on the books, because in my book this is a case of domestic terror!!

10 killed as bus, truck carrying students collide - 10News.com KGTV ABC10 San Diego

How horrible, my ;prayers go out to all the families of those who lost their lives and those who where injured.  These poor kids where excited touring a college campus because they where graduating from high school and moving on to the first big step of their lives, I don't think they will truly find who was at fault here whether it was the passenger car or the truck driver, although I do wonder what involvement the car had in the crash and what the status of the drive of the car is, I know on CNN they said the driver of the truck and the driver of the bus both lost their lives so the one person who may be able to shed light on what happened would be the driver of the car if he/sh survived, as I do wonder if the car or the car was possibly trying to pass the bus. Because of the magnitude of the accident this story will stay in the news and we will hear about every step of the investigation and the end results.

Words scrawled on Subway order leave customer in tears - 10News.com KGTV ABC10 San Diego

It's awful to be treated that way any time but to have this happen to you in a customer service situation is uncalled for, first the employee should be fired, second the manager of the this Subway should be fired because for him to come to Ms. Brown with the explanation he did, that in itself is insensitive that alone should cause him his employment. Ms. Brown's idea of suing Subway and what she would be looking for in the suit is very noble when she could probably win a financial settlement.

Standoff in Oceanside ends after man surrenders - 10News.com KGTV ABC10 San Diego

First to 10 News thank you for posting the suicide hotline phone number, I don't think there is enough done in helping people in general when they are feeling down and want to hurt themselves. This is a very hard time right now for active duty and veterans who are coming back from combat and not getting the help they are silently screaming out for. I honestly don't know what else they can do for the active duty airman, sailor, soldier and marine, they constantly provide training and information for the service member and supervisor, yet these men and women who serve our country right now at this moment continue to either take their lives or injure themselves, the only thing would be to take each and every active duty member from the top leadership to the newest recruit and periodically schedule evaluations on them on a rotating schedule so that each person is evaluated at least twice during each year of they are on active  duty.

With active duty the military has the opportunity to deal with each service member because they have the ability to schedule and require them to attend. With the veterans this is much harder because the veteran can't be required to do anything by the military anymore and not all veterans use the military or veteran hospitals to do the screening and even then they can't be ordered to do so.

The most important step to be performed right now is training and getting the word out to the veterans about the dangers of PTS and how that can be a trigger for suicide (as well as other possible triggers). The way to do this is to flood the media market with advertisements on television, radio, print and internet with the importance of getting the mental health care needed, and I believe 95% if not higher veterans require some type of mental health treatment, even those who have not been in a combat situation.

If the US government doesn't act soon in a more proactive manner I am afraid the suicide percentage will continue to increase in the veteran population, however if they implement a training system like I described above then as each member is discharged honorably or not will have the training and the knowledge when they separate

Man arrested after leading police on 3 pursuits - 10News.com KGTV ABC10 San Diego

This guy put a lot of people in danger if he was under the influence of alcohol or another substance while being a tough man, first beating up his wife/girlfriend then leading the police on 3 pursuits, and he probably drank/used more of what ever the substance or substances he was using.

The thing I don't understand here is why he wasn't captured the two times he was found to be in residences, first on Pogo Row and then Chula Vista, if the police knew his general location they should have stayed in the area so the could grab him before he was able to get out of the home and drive off again, I would say because of the inability to capture this guy while he was in a residence 3 times (first time being when police arrived at original dispatch) and not allowing him to drive off the various police departments also put the public in danger, and I know by the second time the officers involved would have known by the first chase he was intoxicated.
